Full Job Description
You will work flexibly as part of a team of ward administrators to support the Pelican wards at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust, on which inpatients under theDermatology, Rheumatology, Immunology and Infectious Diseases specialties are treated.
You will be responsible for providing excellent customer care to families on the ward and for carrying out established administrative processes efficiently and accurately. You will have excellentinterpersonal skills and be able to deal effectively with a wide range of people. You will be highlyorganised and competent with IT to succeed in this role. You will have a caring and flexible approach to meet service requirements and will work well both as part of a team and independently.
We encourage applications from enthusiastic individuals who can take on new challenges and want to provide the best possible service to clinicians, nurses, and families alike., o To be the first point of contact and ensure that the ward reception areas have adequate cover and support at all times; that families are welcomed onto the ward; that phones are answered,and communication accurately recorded and that admin processes are efficient and of a high standard.o To cross cover the other Ward Administratoro To undertake registration, admission, transfer, and discharge procedures and to input the information onto the EPIC Electronic Patient Records System (EPR) ensuring high data quality and up to date information is entered and maintained promptly within the set targets. Helping the Trust to meet its 24-hour discharge summary target.o To book follow-up appointments for patients post discharge and liaise with patients attending clinic, ensuring information packs are made available where necessary.o To proactively monitor the admissions and discharge process ensuring all patients are accurately admitted and any errors correctly in a timely manner (including
Rheumatology rehab and podiatry patients)o To assist the clinical team in ensuring that follow-up appointments are booked and to monitor missed appointments.
