Full Job Description

The post holder will have clerical duties which will support the smooth and efficient running of the ward.
The post does not carry managerial responsibility. The range of responsibilities will be in support of the ward team and supervised by a Registered Nurse or Ward Manager and may involve rotation as appropriate to the needs of the service.
The post holder will be responsible for the organization of their own workload, including clerical and reception duties on a daily basis, ensuring effective use of all resources available. The post holder will be expected to act in a professional manner at all times.
This role is linked clearly to minimum training requirements providing the ability to practice efficiently.
Following the completion of training and achievement of training requirements, they must ensure that privacy, confidentiality and respect are maintained at all times.
This is a fixed term / secondment post for 10 months to cover the needs of the service. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post., Provide an activity recording service ensuring the all patient admissions, transfers, discharges and deaths are recorded on the Patient Administration System (Myrddin) in accordance with HB policy and procedures. Ensure that bed statements are maintained and reconciled on a daily basis.
Ensure that all appropriate notes are available prior/on day of admission for elective cases and as soon as possible for an emergency admission.
Review patient demographics via Myrddin and welsh demographic system and where necessary update Myrddin and producing new patient labels.
Provide clerical support for the ward including where appropriate administrative support for the submission of forms and samples and the maintenance of office supplies.
