Full Job Description

The successfulcandidate will join a team of experienced ward clerks who support delivery of excellentpatient care by providing administrative support to the nursing and clinicalteams across all wards., Actas a point of contact for patients, relatives and carers

Providea full range of general clerical and administrative and reception duties tosupport the ward, ensuring patient discharges and follow ups are appropriatelyactioned answering the telephone and dealing with visitors to the ward.

This post is tosupport the Acute Stroke Unit (E58) and will be based at Sunderland RoyalHospital. The post is hours per week and the successful candidate will beexpected to work predominately Monday to Friday between the hours of and6pm although occasional weekend working may be required to meet service need.

Maths and English(or numeracy and literacy skills) are essential for the post, therefore pleaseensure that these are listed on your application otherwise you will not beshortlisted.

Previous experience of working within the NHS or an acute hospitalenvironment is desirable though not essential., Demonstratean empathetic nature towards patients relatives and colleagues.

Possessexcellent communication and organisational skills.

Beresilient and able to prioritise tasks and competing demands.

Thepost is very active and requires movement around thehospital with potential cross site cover and you will be required to covervarious wards.

The successful candidate will beadaptable to change and flexible to the needs of the service be motivated and enthusiastic.,
