Our new trust website is: Home | North London Mental Health Partnership, WARD CLERK - Inpatient Forensic Service - Band 3 - 37.5 hours per week
To provide a high quality administrative, clerical and reception service for patients and their carers who access the Trust services in an inpatient environment.
The post holder will encompass regular telephone liaison with external agencies.
You will be required to use your initiative in all aspects of secretarial and clerical work to efficiently prioritise work and meet deadlines, as the service requires.
Your duties will encompass regular liaison regarding the keeping of the appointments diary typing of letters and reports, taking and transcribing minutes at meetings as necessary, telephone liaison as necessary with external agencies and making appointments at the request of the service. You will assist in the maintenance of records, filing, and photocopying and any duties essential to the comprehensive administration support service you will provide. You will be required to ensure the environment is updated with relevant information for the patient group on the ward, you may be required to provide cross cover on other inpatients wards.
The post holder will be an active member and contribute to the effective operation of a multi-disciplinary team.
Your dealings with matters relating to clients and staff is of a highly confidential nature and should not be divulged to another or discussed with other colleagues other than as necessary within the context of your role., The North London Forensic Service provides forensic mental health services in both inpatient and community settings. We pride ourselves on providing high quality services to those with mental health problems who have come into contact with the Criminal Justice System and our forensic inpatient services were recently rated as "outstanding" by the Care Quality Commission for the past two years.
The successful applicant will join a approx. 50 strong admin team within the specialist service division and will be based primarily at Chase Farm Hospital.
We are looking to recruit an administrator to join the service and gain experience when completing the apprenticeship, while working in the inpatient wards. The successful applicant will play an important role as part of the ward team, and will have daily contact with members of the multidisciplinary clinical team in addition to patients, carers and visitors to the unit.
You will need to have good communication and interpersonal skills. You should have an understanding of confidentiality issues and the ability to use your initiative. You will need to be a team player with the necessary skills to provide a high-quality support service. If you enjoy working as part of a dedicated team and have a flexible approach and professional attitude, we would like to hear from you., In order to meet the needs of the new Partnership services you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Enfield and Harringay Trust and Camden and Islington Trust. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.
