Full Job Description

The Surgical Assessment Unit on gate 36 at Pinderfields is looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and dynamic person to join our ward clerk team on a 34.5 hours per week vacancy. The Surgical assessment unit provides a 24 hour service to surgical patients and includes an Advanced clinical practitioner on-call, Hot Clinics, Same Day Emergency Care, Surgical Assessment and In patient beds. We are a really busy unit and take multiple surgical specialities. We are a really supportive, friendly team and provide a great environment to work in., The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be a great team player. They will be responsible for the provision of administrative support on the surgical assessment unit (Gate 36). They will be responsible for answering the telephone and meeting and greeting patients, relatives and visitors to the unit. The role covers a 24 hour rotation of long days and nights including weekends and bank holidays.

We provide care and support to over half a million people in Wakefield and Kirklees in their homes, in community settings and across our three hospital sites at Pontefract, Dewsbury and Pinderfields (in Wakefield).
