Full Job Description

Victoria Ward is a 21 bed ward and is for general medical, frailty, dementia, and palliative patients. Our vision is to deliver outstanding care to patients on the ward and aim to give individual patients, personalised holistic care during their stay with us.

The position is for 10 hours per week with five hours on Monday and five hours on Friday. Unfortunately, these days are not negotiable but the working times within the days are i.e you could work school hours.

We are looking to appoint a self-motivated, enthusiastic person who can work as part of our busy unit. You will be part of the multi-disciplinary team and have the ability to work flexibly with good organisational skills that enable you to work on your own initiative to tight deadlines, thus contributing to the smooth running of the department.

Main responsibilities include Reception duties and answering calls, checking patient's details, maintaining ward stock and general clerical duties. The role also includes ensuring that notes are tracked and available for doctors., The role of the Ward Clerk role is multi-faceted. The Ward Clerk provides support to the team and the unit manager in clerical duties, the daily running of the department and ensures that all support facilities are in place.

Applicants must have good communication skills as well as some IT and PC skills. Knowledge of Lorenzo is desirable but full training will be given.
