An exciting opportunity hasarisen for a Band 2 Ward Clerk to join the team on Ward B10. Ward B10 is a 22bedded, busy elective / emergency surgical ward looking after patients from awide range of specialities including general surgery, urology and maxillofacial. We have a friendly, well-established surgical team with whom we work with dailyto provide high quality care to our patients. The post holder will work in partnership with themulti-disciplinary team in a supportive clinical environment. If you enjoyworking in a fast paced environment and pride yourself on ensuring patientshave the best experience / care then this is the job for you. The staff on B10 take pride in patient care andalways receive positive feedback from both patients and other colleagues withinthe trust for the amazing work and care that they do!, The main duties of the role includes providingadministrative support for the ward including admitting and dischargingpatients, booking appointments for patients, responding to queries face toface, via the telephone and by email, ensure patient notes are maintained andother general ward duties. The applicant must also maintain patientconfidentiality at all times and contribute to a positive patient experience onthe ward. The ward clerk role oftenprovides the first point of contact to the ward. The ideal candidate shouldideally have experience in a hospital environment, be motivated andenthusiastic, possess excellent communication skill and be a team player. Theyshould also be compassionate, accountable and dedicated to treating colleaguesand patients with respect. The applicant will be expected to work as part ofa team, manage their own time and prioritise their workload effectively. Therole requires the applicant to have excellent communication skills andinterpersonal skills with good IT knowledge and skills., Essential Computer and IT skills Experience Essential Experience of working within a team Desirable
