Are you an excellent communicator with a passion for healthcare? Were seeking an enthusiastic & adaptable ward clerk to be part of our Holt Ward team at the Elgar Unit, Worcester. This role is 37.5 hours a week, Mon-Fri. We have processes in place to support flexible working requests. In this important role, you'll be using your knowledge, experience, and expertise to provide essential administrative support to hard-working frontline NHS Ward. A passion for excellent patient care is a must. You will be a strong communicator as you will be supporting wide range of people, including patients and health care professionals. You will need to be responsive and adaptable to the needs of the service, but you can be sure that your hard work will be making a real difference to our patients and service users every day.   • Support from the wider team., To provide comprehensive and confidential administrative and clerical support to the ward team in accordance with the departmental and trust standards. To keep a well organised ward and ensure all relevant systems and processes are kept up to date to ensure smooth patient care from admission to discharge. To provide support and guidance to all colleagues internally and externally in a professional and informed manner. The role may require contact with distressed and anxious patients; training will be given to enable you to manage potentially challenging situations.
  • A typical day as a ward clerk may involve:
  • Maintaining patient records effectively and accurately
  • General office duties such as typing, filing, scanning, photocopying, printing.
  • Scheduling appointments/ meetings
  • Handling correspondence ingoing/outgoing mail
  • Handling queries over the telephone and face to face from staff, patients, and external agencies
  • Looking after the shared email inbox
  • Assisting the team with various administrative tasks
