Full Job Description
The main duties of the position are to provide front line receptionist services, comprehensive administrative support to the ward team including efficient admission and discharge of patients and management of medical notes. Keyboard and computer skills are essential, training on the computer system will be provided.

- Liaise with all Wards/Departments/Staff as and when required, arranging tests and transfers as required.
- Greet and direct all visitors, eg patients, patients relatives, GPs, chaplains and representatives to the appropriate member of staff/patient.
- Answer the telephone and deal with or refer on all incoming calls to the ward staff as appropriate.
- Receive and distribute post.
- Manage and maintain the inpatient diary ensuring all details are accurate and up to date and corresponds with PAS.
- Keep the Bed State up to date (real time) on an agreed and timely basis.
- Input accurate and timely data onto the PAS system, ie patients admitted, transferred, discharged from the ward.
- To be always adaptable providing support to the Department team in whatever capacity is deemed appropriate.
- To attend and participate in ward meetings.
- To provide clerical support and assist the Ward Team.

The Neuroscience department consists of 2 wards Heydon, 37 bedded ward, & Ingham, 33 bedded ward, both dedicated and specializing in Stroke and Neurology. We are currently seeking a friendly enthusiastic and well-organized individual to work and support the wards medical and nursing teams. You will be able to work on your own initiative as well as being a key member of the ward team. Individuals should be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and possess a willingness to take on new challenges
