Full Job Description
The ward clerk will provide a professional, efficient and friendly service ensuring that all patients, visitors and clinicians are welcomed to the Paediatric Critical Care Unit in an appropriate manner. They will provide comprehensive clerical support to the administration and clinical teams in delivering high quality patient care and making a positive difference to the patient experience.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and well-presented individual to join our ward clerk team on Paediatric Critical Care. Full time and part time hours will be considered with flexibility of shift times dependent on the needs of a 7 day service., The post holder will need to have a flexible approach to work, be highly organised and enjoy working individually as well as part of a larger team., To demonstrate excellent communication skills when dealing with patients, relatives and members of the multidisciplinary team utilising sensitivity, empathy and ability to manage conflict.
Act as a first point of contact for patients, relatives and visiting staff to the department, welcoming them to the unit and dealing with any queries in an efficient, polite and courteous manner and responding to all telephone enquiries in a prompt and professional manner.
Demonstrate efficient office management skills and the ability to prioritise your own workload working to tight timescales within an environment of conflicting demands.
Carry out the role with regard to the efficient and effective use of resources within the clinical environment.
