Full Job Description

The post holder will work as an integral part of the ward team. S/he will be responsible for monitoring of all non-clinical patient facilities service in the ward area and ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment to improve the patient's experience. The main elements of this role are conducting daily checks of the ward environment to monitor quality standards, to report deficiencies and take appropriate action. Ensure the delivery of cleaning, catering and minor maintenance services together with other specified tasks to meet individual patient's needs., As a Trust we remain bold and ambitious with plans for both service and system collaborative transformation over the coming years to improve the health and wellbeing of our local people through high quality care. We would very much welcome applications from all under-represented groups including women, people with disabilities, people from global majority backgrounds, and those from the lesbian, gay, bi and trans communities., To check there is a high standard of cleanliness in all areas and assisting in maintaining and monitoring cleaning standards on the ward e.g. tidying of bed areas, conduct regular cleanliness audits and provide reports to the Ward Manager, assist in Patient-Led Assessments of the Care Environment (PLACE) inspections. Catering To check that patients are provided with good quality food and drink to meet their individual needs and to report any deficiencies to the facilities manager. To support menu completion for all dietary categories and facilitate any bespoke menus if required with the catering team. Provide a suitable environment for a pleasant mealtime. Undertake the ordering and collecting of additional food / snacks and ensuring that patients are provided with appropriate cutlery, crockery, protective clothing. To support the implementation of and promote the culture of protected meal times for all patients. Maintaining the environment To check that the environment is well maintained, safe, welcoming, comfortable, reassuring and to report any deficiencies to the nurse in charge. Check general tidiness in all areas of the ward, report and follow up environmental maintenance issues., + In the event of exceptionally high levels of response, we reserve the right to close the post before the date stated above in order to prevent the number of applications received being unmanageable.
