We have an exciting opportunity for a Ward Leader to come and join our team across the infectious diseases ward within the medicine specialty at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS)., What you'll do

  • Provide nursing leadership and work with the Matron to enhance nursing practice and strategy
  • Manage the department and be responsible for ensuring 24 hr cover for the service
  • Facilitate evidence-based care and act as a clinical expert at ward level

    This is a part time 23 hours per week, permanent role on ward C5 (14 bedded purpose-built infectious diseases unit, caring for patients with a variety of illnesses. If you have a strong focus on patient care, proven leadership skills and are able to work inter-professionally across boundaries then we are keen for you to join our team. This is a great opportunity to develop your management and leadership skills. Evidence of your ability to create an effective learning environment is essential. You will need to be able to demonstrate excellent clinical skills and be able to support junior colleagues in their development.
