Primarily 8am-4pm, however, may involve some shift working to support the ward, weekends and bank holidays.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Ward leader post for Beech Ward and the Early Pregnancy/Emergency Gynaecological Unit at the Great Western Hospital.
We are looking for an experienced, motivated nurse with gynaecological and pregnancy loss knowledge and skills, The post holder will be responsible for ensuring a high-quality patient experience through the continued leadership and development of the team alongside responsibility for the day to day clinical and operational management of Beech/EPU/EGU.
Beech ward has 18 female beds primarily caring for elective and emergency gynaecological patients, patients undergoing breast surgery and patients transferred from EPU. The ward currently also cares for surgical and medical outlying patients depending on capacity.
The EPU/EGU for the Trust is within the unit supported by Clinicians, ACP's and the ward team. The unit provides a 7 day a week service and the post holder will be expected to support the unit alongside the ward and be proactive in the further development of the unit to meet the needs of the community., The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Matron and their ward team in providing effective nursing leadership supporting a team of nurses ensuring the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) code of conduct is at the forefront of the team's nursing care. In addition, the post holder will be required to work closely with the multi-disciplinary team in the provision of a high standard of individualised patient care, thus improving the patient experience. The position supports a clinical role in addition to the management of operational and people operation issues. The post will incorporate the provision of care to patients, their families and carers' in accordance with the philosophy and standards of care within the clinical area; in line with Trust policies and procedures, ensuring that values and beliefs are upheld.
The successful candidate will be expected to engage with opportunities to drive the quality agenda, actively collaborating with colleagues and participating in service and Divisional meetings. The post -holder must be an advocate for the specific needs of the patients within the Division and the Trust.

8. Development and implementation of multi-disciplinary integrated care pathways for patients.
9. Demonstrate up to date knowledge and understanding of current issues and priorities that effect National, Trust and Directorate wide healthcare, to facilitate clear leadership and direction.
