Full Job Description

1. The successful candidate for the Ward Manager position in the Acute Cardiac Centre must be dynamic and highly motivated and prepared to meet the challenges of maintaining high standards of care while leading the nursing team under pressure. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of clinical standards and professional practice within the service, including the coordination of staff, budget resources, and the overall environment.

Collaboration with the Matron and Head of Nursing within the Cardiovascular will be essential for shaping future services. Candidates must possess substantial experience as a Band 6 nurse within cardiology or cardiac surgery. Excellent communication skills and strong leadership capabilities are essential to uphold the standards and values of the Trust.

The successful candidate will utilise their leadership and clinical expertise to meet the dept. needs, focusing on the implementation of service development in line with the Trust's Nursing and Midwifery Strategy and divisional objectives. This includes efforts to maintain and enhance the quality of the patient experience., A successful individual must be highly motivated to take on this challenge and meet head on the pressure to maintain high standards and delivery of quality care, whilst leading the nursing team.The post holder will manage all aspects of clinical standards and professional practice within the service and will manage and coordinate staff budget resources and the environment. You will help shape future services working and supporting the Matron and Lead Nurse within the Cardiac Division.Substantial experience as a Band 6 within cardiology/cardiac surgery and hold a mentorship qualification is required. You must have excellent communication and strong leadership skills to uphold the standards and values of the trust.

You will demonstrate key leadership and management skills and will be responsible for providing clinical and professional leadership for a team of staff supporting the service, including utilising your leadership and clinical skills to meet the needs of the unit. The implementation of service development in line with the Trust Nursing and Midwifery Strategy and divisional objectives will be key, incorporating work to maintain the quality of the patient experience.
