Full Job Description

o Ensuring the effective management of a ward with day-to-day responsibility of managing the shift, and bed management. o Delivery of a high standard of patient care on a daily basis and providing clinical and managerial leadership and teaching to nursing and support staff. o Assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for patients who suffer from severe mental illness.Main duties of the job The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and provide Leadership and be a role model to the team. They will provide quality evidence-based nursing advice, support and care for patients with mental health needs and their carers within a multidisciplinary setting. They will carry overall continuing responsibility for the management and leadership of the ward including administration and the overall co-ordination, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and the setting and auditing of standards of care The post holder will be required to work within the NMC Code of Practice and professional guidelines. Provide clinical and managerial leadership on the ward. Responsibility for the effective functioning of the clinical environment. Overall responsibility for setting, monitoring and maintaining clinical and educational standards.
