Full Job Description

The Specialist Nursing Home at Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability consists of four wards. The service provides care and support of patients with neuro-disability requiring complex 24 hour postural management programmes and enhanced respiratory and tracheostomy care as well as managing and supporting other Long Term Conditions such as epilepsy, diabetes and wound management.,

  • Responsible for the operational management of clinical area.
  • Lead and effectively manage the ward nursing team.
  • Ensure high standards of evidence-based, person-centered care are maintained.
  • To establish and maintain systems for clinical governance.
  • To effectively and efficiently manage ward budget and resources.
  • To promote good communication within the team and with external agencies.
  • Be able to work across the Christmas and/or New Year period
  • Work at least 15 hours per month clinical shifts to cover the ward
  • Cover Clinical response service duties within the Senior Nursing Roster with flexibility to work weekends as rostered
