Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a ward manager to work on Eagle Osprey, as part of the Secure Inpatient Services. We nurture the recovery journey of anyone in need of our help. In Our Trust, everyone has a say in how they are supported and treated because we listen to every person in our care until they feel understood. Our patients, their families and carers work together with us towards better mental health. Applicants must ensure that prior to applying they have agreement from their current line manager that they can be released on a secondment basis

The successful candidate will need to have a genuine desire to improve the lives of individuals in secure services and will be expected to demonstrate knowledge of issues relating to Mental Health, Learning and Disability or Autism, risk assessment, safety and preventing harm and should understand the importance of collaboration and service user involvement on recovery. The successful candidate will demonstrate skills in collective leadership and compassionate focused care. We're committed to new thinking that improves the wellbeing of our region. In addition, the successful candidates will need to demonstrate sound leadership and managerial qualities. Experience of Forensic services desirable however not essential.

The Secure Inpatient Service provides a specialist service for adults with a mental health disorder, learning disability or autism who exhibit behaviours of concern to others and to themselves. The service provides individualised, comprehensive packages of care within Medium and Low Secure inpatient settings and has links to High Secure services and prisons.

The ethos of the service is to work collaboratively with service users and carers in the completion of assessments, treatment, intervention planning and rehabilitation to enable a person-centered recovery-focused approach to care, meeting their needs in a holistic manner.
