Full Job Description

As Ward Manager, you will oversee the delivery of safe, high-quality, and patient-centered services, ensuring our unit embodies excellence, compassion, and responsiveness. You will provide direct leadership and operational management, working alongside multidisciplinary teams to uphold our commitment to exemplary palliative and end-of-life care. You will work with, advise and support the Director of Clinical Services in developing and implementing the long-term strategy for inpatient services., Budget Oversight: Manage the IPU budget responsibly, ensuring appropriate resource allocation and fiscal efficiency.

Leadership: Inspire and support the IPU team in delivering compassionate care, maintaining a well-coordinated, high-standard 7-day, 24-hour service.

Clinical Excellence: Ensure clinical and patient care aligns with current best practices, regulations, and standards. Maintain accurate and complete patient records.

Team Management: Direct and support IPU staff, volunteers, and student nurses, facilitating professional development, health, and well-being.

Patient Advocacy: Lead patient care plans that address physical, social, psychological, and emotional needs. Actively engage in discharge planning and coordinate with families and carers.

Quality Assurance: Contribute to clinical governance, participate in quality assurance initiatives, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
