Ward Manager (Jupiter)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Ward Manager in the Acute & Urgent Care Service Line for Jupiter Ward based at Springfield University Hospital., Jupiter Ward is a busy and highly functioning 20 bed mixed acute admission wards located in Trinity Building on the Springfield Hospital site. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the inpatient nursing team to uphold a high standard of patient care. He/she will promote collaborative teamworking, ensure the assessment of care needs and implementation of treatment and recovery pathways so that patients are discharged in a timely manner.

The post holder will need excellent communication skills to engage effectively with staff, patients, carers, and families and seek to resolve any concerns in a positive way. He/she will be responsible for ensuring the ward environment is upheld to a high standard, the ward is safely staffed within agreed budgets, monitoring staff sickness/absences, maintaining Key Performance Indicators and ensuring supervision and appraisal systems are robustly implemented. Furthermore, the post holder will be accountable for reviewing Trust policies and procedures and confirming these are implemented and monitored on the ward.

We are recruiting a Band 7 Ward Manager in a substantive post on Jupiter Ward at Springfield Hospital. We are looking to appoint someone who is efficient and motivated with the appropriate skills to lead a diverse and experienced team. The post will develop your skills in clinical leadership, staff management, quality and service improvement, and joint working with multiple agencies/services.

Our largest, 19-ward site is in Springfield Village, created following our £150m investment into two new world class mental health facilities. A 32-acre public park, shops and cafes are coming soon. Close to shops, cafes and Tooting Bec on the Northern Line plus Earlsfield and Tooting rail stations and bus routes.
