Full Job Description

In this role, you'll be pivotal in inspiring and motivating a team of nurses and healthcare assistants within our inpatient unit to deliver a high standard of specialist palliative care. You will create, lead and maintain a nursing culture which is open to change, new ideas, concepts and innovation whilst influencing Pilgrims strategy and direction. You will be responsible for improving the patient experience and safeguarding high standards of care by creating an environment in which excellence in clinical care can flourish and be measured. In conjunction with the Hospice Services Manager, you will have responsibility for maintaining high standards in cleanliness, safety, and comfort, all in line with Care Quality Commission (CQC) guidelines. Whether managing your team, working with other multi-disciplinary services or delivering expert patient care, you'll make a positive impact every day. Support and collaboration You'll have a deputy Ward Sister, offering support and collaboration. This setup ensures the management of the ward can continue during annual leave, so you can return to work refreshed. Are you a registered nurse with experience in managerial leadership, looking to make a meaningful difference?, If this role sounds like a great opportunity for you, you'll need to meet the role criteria to ensure you have the right skills:

  • Leadership Management experience in a clinical setting
  • Communication Ability to communicate effectively with and influence people at all levels
  • Qualified Being a Registered Nurse with the Independent Prescriber in Palliative Care qualification
  • Problem solving An ability to identify challenges and find creative solutions
  • Experience Previous experience at Band 6 or equivalent within a palliative care or comparative setting
