Full Job Description
We welcome applications from highly motivated and experienced leaders currently at a minimum of a band 6 junior sister/charge nurse role, with at least 2 years acute hospital setting, working within an acute care/urgent care setting.
Our aim is to promptly treat our patients with a view to discharge or admit into the hospital bed base as patient condition requires. You will be a role model and have a clear interest in delivering high quality care ensuring staff and patients' needs are met, whilst ensuring flow through the assessment unit

If so, there is an exciting opportunity to apply for the position of Ward Sister/Charge Nurse on Short Stay Unit.
The role requires the successful candidate to manage an acute medical assessment area and lead a diverse, skilled, motivated team.
You will be required to ensure staff are committed to evidence based practice and that this is adhered to at all times. You will be required to be aware of the latest updates and changes to policies and procedures in order to cascade this down to your team.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and provide evidence of working autonomously as well as part of a team and have awareness of HR processes and policy.
In return we can offer you a stimulating work environment with a commitment to multidisciplinary working and continuing professional development., Responsibilities will include management of staffing inclusive managing the roster and dealing with sickness issues rostering.
Reviewing datix and acting upon any safety issues that arise.
Ensuring the safety needs of the unit are met and that patient care is of the highest possible standard.
Maintaining robust training records and liaising with the Urgent Care practice development team to identify learning needs and put in place any training required.
Reviewing finance reports and reporting the Urgent Care Senior Team any issues.
Responding to complaints and compliments as needed., Applications will be transferred to TRAC system, by completing an application your are giving authorisation for the transfer of your data.

In submitting an application form, you authorise Kettering General Hospital (KGH) NHS Foundation Trust to confirm any previous NHS service details via the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) Inter Authority Transfer (IAT) process. Including factual reference, occupational health clearance and statutory and mandatory training record.
If you need to have a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check, as a requirement of the role, you will be required to repay the cost of obtaining a DBS check (£49.50) and this amount will be reclaimed from your first salary. From 1st February 2019 all new starters to the Trust are required to join the DBS update service as per Trust DBS Re-checking Policy which has an annual cost of £16. New employees who do not join the update service will be required to pay £49.50 for a new DBS check in 3 years time.
Please note that news starters with KGH are subject to a six month probationary period.
