Full Job Description

Reporting to the W&L Commercial Director in UK, Ireland, and being part of the European Commercial team, the Solutions Designer is responsible for creating technical designs and solutions that meet customer requirements. The role will focus on the UK & Irish markets leading the sales work to deliver our ambitious growth targets and meet the corporate objectives of the W&L business. The role will provide crucial industry experience to develop and refine solutions for customers, working with Operational colleagues to ensure we can meet client needs with the right commercial solution. It's a role that spans Operations, Commercial and Product Development to ensure we are well placed to deliver the growth. Typical objectives for the role will include: Analyse data, prepare solutions design cost model incorporating assessment of data, productivities, headcount, equipment, space and costings. Lead the development and design of innovative warehousing solutions that meet the needs of the customer. This includes storage solutions, material handling equipment, process improvements and layout designs. Identify inefficiencies in current warehousing processes and develop solutions to improve productivity, space utilisation, and cost-effectiveness Collaborate with clients, internal stakeholders, and external vendors to gather requirements, present solutions, and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle. Develop detailed solution design documentation, including workflows, data models, process flows, and modelling assumptions Assess the feasibility of proposed solutions, including evaluating technologies, tools, and systems to determine the best fit for customer needs. Stay updated with the latest technology trends and advancements to continuously improve the design of solutions.

Extensive experience in warehousing or logistics solutions design The ideal candidate will have multiple years of experience in contract logistics industry, preferably with 3PL experience In-depth understanding of warehousing operations, distribution, material handling, and logistics processes. Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify operational inefficiencies and develop effective solutions. Ability to prepare budgets, create cost-effective solutions, and understand the financial impact of warehousing designs. Track record of developing complex logistics solutions for customer, subsequently turning into sales Be used to working in a global organisation and collaborative matrix structure Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Work, PowerPoint and Visio) and Google applications Modelling tools like CAST, CLASS, Paragon, or AutoCad
