Full Job Description

Warehouse Manager will oversee Ecommerce web order fulfilment and run the Estate Logistics warehouse and delivery operation. The Ecommerce team pack website orders for our luxury range of Newt products for delivery by parcel carrier across the UK. The Estate Logistics team operate our central warehouse receiving products, foods and materials, picking and delivery of departmental orders and provide internal logistics services for food production and events. We're looking for a skilled multitasker who is exceptionally detail focused, an excellent people manager and able to organise multiple facets of warehouse operations simultaneously. Your top responsibilities will be to coordinate order fulfilment and drive high packing standards to ensure order completeness and safe delivery and to manage the receiving, handling, storing, picking, and packing activities of the warehouse as well as the delivery aspects for the Logistics team. Inventory accuracy will also be critical to ensure orders are fulfilled and stock variance minimised. Employing best-practice policies and procedures, the role holder will lead the teams through effective delegation and resource planning. Responsibility for delivery of the business plan will include cost monitoring and control, accurate measurement of key performance indicators, their delivery against targets and continuous improvement activities to increase efficiency. Key Responsibilities Ensure that the warehouses operate at peak efficiency with internal and external customer satisfaction the primary goal Ensure productivity targets and order fulfilment KPIs are achieved or bettered at warehouse and individual levels Manage workload planning by day / week / month and ensure planning for events, offers and seasonal variations are included Document and review standard operating procedures ensuring daily compliance for all food safety related activities Adopt a continuous improvement approach to warehouse operations and systems by optimising product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilisation, inventory, goods in procedures and development of IT related processes Train and manage the warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals Minimise stock loss variance through accurate goods in and putaway processes, pick accuracy, daily perpetual inventory checks and a complete monthly stock count followed by associated variance analysis Generate performance and throughput reports with associated analysis to determine short and medium terms trends Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures and by complying with legal regulations. Ensure training refreshers are completed in good time and documented Administer HR related activities including rota planning, absence administration, timesheet sign off and related Fourth requirements (HR system) Raise, sign off and receipt purchase orders related to departmental costs Monitor stock levels of and procure operational consumable items including packaging To coordinate and ensure delivery of operational support activities : risk assessments, SOPs management, security, waste management & recycling, cleaning, property maintenance, equipment and consumables Provide means for continuous professional training and performance assessment of the team members through an effective performance assessment framework using objective setting and regular review Support the Head of Logistics with departmental initiatives

Extensive proven track record experience in logistics operations management Experience of scaling up operational output capacity and efficiency via re-structure of labour, equipment and facilities on-demand and on short notice Experience of successful implementation and management of specialised warehouse management, distribution and procurement software systems. High confidence in working with complex processes, its streamlining and automating for efficiency improvement and cost minimisation. High numerical literacy, data-driven approach in decision-making via effective measurement and assessment of operational performance Proactive with great interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with team members and stakeholders at all levels FLT experience counterbalance required) and Flexi truck (desired) Intermediate or advanced Excel

  • The teams are supported by an Administrator, and 2 Inventory Controllers, a Commercial Finance Manager, a Transport Manager and a Customer Service team as well as the Head of Logistics.
