Contract Type: Permanent Shift patterns: Any 5 from 7, Night Shift Location: Northampton - NN4 9BD DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Warehouse Operations Manager to play a vital role coordinating our daily logistics requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of supply chain management practices and demonstrative understanding of storage and distribution procedures. WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

  • Take responsibility for managing and running a safe operation and driving a Safety First Culture with all individuals in the operation by applying and improving the Safety Standards
  • To strategically manage all warehouse, distribution and maintenance activities in line with DHL's policies and vision, monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of all functions, performance and productivity, ensuring safe and cost-effective methods are a priority consideration
  • To take operational leadership and budget responsibility for managing a safe and efficient operation to help achieve operational standards and the customer(s).
  • To manage and implement the daily coordination of direct reports, ensuring that all schedules, regulations, records and working practices are up-to-date and in line with company policies and UK legislation, whilst maintaining excellent working practices and health & safety compliance across the business
  • To continuously review and evaluate warehouse policies, procedures, and systems to ensure that the site is operating at maximum efficiency and optimum level

  • Previous and practical experience as a Warehouse Operations Manager within a busy logistics environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain management and legislation
  • Experience of managing, shift managers within a warehouse enviroment
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to organise and train direct reports
  • Computer literate with a practical knowledge of logistics software programmes and packages
  • Analytical, with excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
  • A recognised qualification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics will be preferred and well-received
