Full Job Description
A Warehouse Supervisor is required for this organisation in Thatcham to contribute to the overall success of the distribution centre environment to ensure it is a productive, safe, and positive place to work. Working closely with the General Manager, this position is responsible for the management, planning and execution of the day-to-day operations within the distribution centre. A knowledge of e-commerce would be a distinct advantage. The Warehouse Supervisor must ensure that the distribution centre is optimally organised to provide excellent customer service to clients and customers. Working a 40 hour week. Standard company benefits include 25 days holiday, health insurance, perkbox and more Warehouse Supervisor duties & responsibilities:
- Responsible for the direct supervision and mentoring of the leadership team within specific areas of the business
- Maintain a continued focus on the financial and operational performance
- Work with the General Manager to drive continuous improvement and efficiency gains to reduce overall cost
- Responsible for collating, reviewing, and reporting daily/monthly operational data to relevant internal stakeholders at agreed times
- Responsible for ensuring compliance of their policies and procedures
- Coach, train, and develop Supervisors and Team Leaders
- Complete client incident reports requested by Business Management team
- Ensure the layout is optimally aligned for maximum efficiency as seasonality and inventory needs require
- Ensure that resource is planned effectively and accurately according to forecasted volume for respective clients, receiving headcount tracker, analysing data to maximise productivity, and being accountable for accuracy of ADP hours.
- Responsible for the control and safekeeping of their IT/Operational equipment, ensuring all equipment such as devices are managed correctly
- Responsible for ensuring that Client needs are met, and service is managed to KPIs in line with specific client SOW s whilst maintaining compliance to their operational processes and procedures
- Take ownership of the procurement requirements
- Take an active role, working with the IC Supervisor, to ensure client inventory accuracy is maintained
Experience within a similar role - Experience of managing a team within a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Good technical knowledge of E-commerce/distribution operations
- JDE/WMS/ADP knowledge would be an advantage
- Computer literate with proficiency in all Microsoft programs
- Ability to interact and communicate at all levels both internally and externally, IOSH Managing Safely (desirable)
