Wash Operative

Turners Soham Ltd have a great opportunity for wash Operative to work out of our Newmarket Depot. We are looking for a new team member to assistant with the impressive onsite Lorry Washer.
The successful candidate will be organised and have a high level of commitment and motivation. They must also be detail conscious and able to work well in an outdoor environment.

Wash Operative duties will include:

• Ensure that all Tractor & Trailer Units and other vehicles that enter the Vehicle Wash Area are washed to the highest standard.


• Ensure a continuous flow of vehicles and trailers through the wash, either driven by staff or fetched using the allocated wash shunter.


• Accurately complete all necessary documentation to ensure that work is achieved to the highest standards.


• Maintain a clean and tidy wash area, free from litter, dirt, grease, and any other hazards.


• Operate the vehicle wash equipment in accordance with Safe Systems of Work and established company policies and procedures.


• Conduct daily checks to assess the condition of all wash equipment, promptly reporting any defects or issues to management.


• Ensure that adequate chemicals and consumables are available to carry out all duties effectively.


• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the Wash area and plant room, ensuring that all items (chemicals, etc.) are stored safely and free from damage.


• Assist the Depot Manager with other duties in the yard area as required.

• Monday-Friday 6.00-14.00


• Monday-Friday 14.00-22.00


• Weekend work available

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
