Full Job Description

Buro Happold's Waste Operations, Logistics and Flow team advise on building and city level waste generation, collection and treatment systems. We work with design teams to ensure waste and deliveries can efficiently move through the building. Our team of engineers and scientists have worked on over 260 projects in 40 different countries. We are looking for a new team member to join us in one of our central city offices. This role will include developing waste and logistics strategies, waste generation demands, back of house route planning, waste and goods storage, transport methods and waste treatment options. We work closely with other engineering and scientific disciplines, leading a range of built environment projects that range from sport venues, museums to entire new cities. Buro Happold takes a people centric approach to cross discipline working.   • Develop waste and logistics strategies for diverse projects
  • Calculate waste generation demands and plan efficient routes
  • Select storage and transport methods for goods and waste
  • Explore innovative waste treatment options
  • Coordinating with design teams on waste infrastructure locations, internal building design including service yards for waste and goods flows
  • Technical report writing and bid preparation
  • Leading and managing multiple projects both technically and commercially
  • Presenting to design teams and clients, Work on global projects spanning sports venues, hospitals, airports. museums, as well as new district and city level masterplans.
  • Gain exposure to diverse systems, cultures, and career-enhancing experiences.
  • Be part of a people-centric, cross-disciplinary approach to problem-solving.

    Academic background in waste management, engineering, logistics or environmental science
  • Experience in waste management or related fields
  • Working towards relevant Chartership
