Full Job Description

We currently have a vacancy for a suitably qualified driver to perform operational duties within Waste Management Services.

Your role will include being responsible for a small team collecting household, commercial waste, and recycling (contained in wheeled bins and sacks) via a 26-tonne refuse collection vehicle.

As the team leader you will ensure tasks and paperwork are completed in a professional manner, that excellent customer service is provided to our residents and to help ensure better management of our resources, you will also be supporting residents to recycle their waste effectively enabling the Council to meet its Corporate Plan objective to increase recycling in the borough.

You must hold a minimum of a Category C licence and be physically fit, able to walk long distances each day, move wheeled bins, sacks, and any other waste as required. Excellent customer service is essential for this key frontline service. As part of Street Scene Services, you will, when required, participate in the wider duties of the service.

Grade 4, £28,624 to 31,067 per annum pro rata (including market supplement)
37 hours per week, Monday to Friday on a permanent contract, Benefits include flexible working options, generous pension scheme and annual leave plus bank holidays.
