Waste Operations Team Lead
Rivenhall, Essex
Indaver leads the field in sustainable waste management in Europe. We deliver high-quality, cost-effective services in the municipal, industrial and specialist hazardous waste markets. We currently offer Total Waste Management and Waste-to-Energy solutions in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Portugal, the UK and Ireland.
Currently, in Essex, Indaver is constructing the Rivenhall Facility, which will process circa 595,000t of residual waste per annum and produce electricity to power in the region of, 60,000 homes. Indaver is now hiring 65 specialist personnel to maintain and operate this large scale process plant.
The Waste Operations Lead operates as part of the Production Operations Team and is responsible for all waste and residue related production and operational coordination activities required to operate the Rivenhall facility in a safe, efficient and compliant manner.
They will also be responsible for a team of Waste and Weighbridge Operatives, ensuring all team members work safely and return home safely as well as being on top of development and training needs.

Role
- All activities concerning waste delivery and residue removal are well coordinated with appropriate controls and clarity
- Liaison with customers and contractors on all matters concerning the safe execution of waste delivery and residue removal operations
- Ensure licence requirements are met at all times
- Work with the Production Manager to assist with the development operations personnel to ensure a high degree of operational excellence and consistency
- Coordination and facilitation of external agency compliance monitoring operations
- General management of Waste Team (approximately 10-11 personnel, operating 12 hour day shifts - 7am - 7pm)
- All work undertaken within the facility is enabled in compliance with the Indaver Integrated Safe System of Work
Experienced required
- Ideally educated in a logistics or waste management related area study, but relevant experience will be considered
- Demonstrating concern for people, safety and the environment
- Experience working around frequent heavy vehicles
- Strong experience of operating ERP systems, such as SAP would be highly beneficial
- Dealing with customers, transparency in communications and actions
- Machinery operations licenses an advantage, but training is available if required
- Supervisory experience within a small multi-discipline team
- Must be eligible to work in the UK, as no visa sponsorship will be offered for this position
