Waste Porter

We are looking for a Waste Porter to join our Team at Mitie. You'll be responsible for the collection and correct disposal of clinical, domestic, and recycling waste, whilst ensuring the security, cleanliness and tidiness of all external waste handling / storage areas, some of which may be hazardous., You'll be providing a great customer service to patients, staff and various stakeholders by responding to all requests received via the helpdesk or internal communication system in a timely and efficient manner. You will be collecting/delivering equipment and furniture to/from any location within the hospital and undertaking any ad-hoc duties as directed by the supervision and management team.

The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of Health and Safety at work guidelines and be able to do manual handling & some bending/stretching/heavy lifting. A strong communicator, who can easily interact with customers and team members with the ability to operate smartphones and radios. You should be able to act calmly and quickly in emergencies or in the face of conflicting demands while communicating sensitively with patients and their families. You should be able to cope well with sickness, death, and distress.
