Join Our Dynamic Team as a Project Manager in Waste Management We have an exciting opportunity for a Waste Project Manager in Strategic Waste, are you looking for an opportunity to work on exciting and innovative projects in waste services? Durham County Council is seeking a talented Project Manager to join our Strategic Team WHAT IS INVOLVED? We are seeking a passionate and proactive individual to join our innovative Neighbourhoods and Climate Change Directorate. In this cross-functional role, you will manage multiple service projects and initiatives of varying sizes and complexity, from planning and monitoring to full implementation. As a key player in our team, you will provide professional support across all aspects of project delivery, ensuring efficiency while building strong, lasting relationships. Your work will drive forward innovative solutions in waste management, contributing to a forward-thinking, modern organisation.,

  • Oversee the end-to-end management of service projects, from planning to execution.
  • Ensure timely delivery of initiatives while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Collaborate across teams and serve as the main point of contact, ensuring clear communication and workflow.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across the organisation., Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply. This model is pro-rated for part time roles and arrangements are at managers discretion, alternatively you can work all of your contracted hours within the workplace if you prefer.

  • Experience managing complex projects and meeting tight deadlines., APM Project Management Qualification and/or Prince2 Practitioner with substantial recent proven experience of individually managing several complex projects through the full project lifecycle.
  • APM Introductory Certificate PFQ and/or Prince2 Foundation level with exceptional recent proven experience of individually managing several complex projects through the full project lifecycle. Or exceptional level of experience or equivalent qualifications. Management Level 3
