Full Job Description
Providing expertise and guidance, ensuring the continuous improvement to waste and environmental performance, and contribute to pre-contract, work-winning and audit activities through the implementation of the business unit strategy.in line with relevant standards, client expectations and the Integrated Management System (IMS).
Delivering waste and environmental advice and guidance at all levels to minimise risk to the company and assist with the development and implementation of the environmental elements of the integrated management system (IMS) including the production of documents to maintain the ISO14001 certification and any collaborative management system.
Lead and undertake inspections, audits and investigations where required, carryout leadership tours and raising reports on findings/observations, and implementing lessons learned and improvements; review compliance with management systems, waste and environmental management plans and legislation via internal audits and by supporting external audits
Support the team of assistants and advisors, and monitor and review performance in line with company processes to deliver current and future requirements and identify and promote best practice across the business unit and share lessons learnt
Maintain current working knowledge of relevant legislation and industry practice and provide input to the corporate strategy and local and business unit action plans to ensure compliance.
The PSWC provides waste guidance to their plant or projects up to the point that the waste is handed over for treatment or disposal. This includes ensuring that wastes are identified, packaged, labelled and routed via the most appropriate waste route; the PSWC is also the first point of contact for the local WA.
In addition, the PSWC provides day-to-day advice and guidance to the plant waste disposal issues and provide advice and guidance on the WMH and day to day advice and guidance to the plant/area on waste disposal including safe, suitable and secure areas for waste storage.
Carry out and participate in waste stream audits and observations and identify improvements as required, and act promptly on non-compliance issues and carry out/participate in investigations where required.
Educated to a high standard or equivalent in a relevant subject matter
Recognised internal auditing qualifications
Understanding of corporate strategy, values and objectives
Knowledge of ISO14001 Environmental Management System and its implementation

Sound knowledge of construction practises and standards within their subject
