Full Job Description

Southwark Council is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Waste Technical Officer to join our team. This role is pivotal in supporting the Waste Contract Performance Manager in overseeing the performance and services delivered through the Council's Integrated Waste Management Solutions (IWMS) Contract., Performance Monitoring: Keep a close eye on the contracted services to ensure they meet the required standards. You will manage day-to-day issues, ensuring they are resolved fairly and efficiently.

Data Verification: Collaborate with team members to verify payments, tonnage records, performance data, and contract deductions, ensuring accuracy and accountability.

Service Administration: Handle requests and enquiries for services delivered by the contractor, and manage complaints and customer enquiries referred by other teams. You'll also liaise with finance and customer services departments as needed.

Stakeholder Management: Act as a key contact for managing enquiries and complaints from stakeholders, including councillors and elected Members, related to the IWMS Contract.

Technical Oversight: Assist in monitoring the contractor's technical performance to ensure compliance with the Council's Integrated Waste Management Contract, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

You will bring a strong eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
