Full Job Description

The Water Hygienist will provide expert advice and assurance on all matters of Water Safety through an Estates Service, serving the needs of University Hospital of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust (UHDB) and partner organisations, ensuring that the needs and expectations of all stakeholders are met. The role will provide support to the General Manager of E&F and the wider Estates and Facilities team. The services will be delivered in line with all relevant legislation, regulation, and guidance appertaining to the field of work. The role will work closely with Estates colleagues and client teams across the Trusts and its partner organisations contributing to the overall management of Water Safety projects, Policies/Procedures, and Water Safety improvement initiatives. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring staff, patients and visitors are able to deliver/receive the required level of care in a safe and appropriate Healthcare environment.Main duties of the job Act as Appointed Person for water. Ensuring experience, skills and training are in date and in accordance with AEs recommendations. To chair Water Safety Group meetings; monitor and manage Action Plans and provide written verbal updates for H&S Committees. To provide support to the General Manager of Estates & Facilities, in the efforts of Water Safety monitoring, management and improvements. To provide professional Water Safety support, serving the needs of University Hospital of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust (UHDB) and partner organisations, ensuring compliance with current statutory requirements, codes of practice and Trust policies and procedures, Water Code and other guidance e.g. HTM and HBN suite of documents, Regulatory Reform (Water Safety) Order 2005, Building Regulations, British Standards and European Directives etc. Ensure that the regulatory bodies are informed of any work that may affect the water safety of any building and that any modifications to water systems are comprehensively commissioned and documented, and that site plans, system schematics and local Water Authority information are updated and current through dialogue and audit. Identify the Trusts status regarding compliance with current water legislation and guidance, escalate non-conformities, and put in place/recommend corrective actions and forecast resources required

    £34,465 to £41,955 a year pa (Salary is inclusive of a15% Recruitment & Retention Premia)
