Full Job Description

As a Water Network Controller You will be responsible for managing all Planned and Reactive Events from start to finish on our water network. This involves coordinating with Operations and field teams including our service providers to ensure our customers have access to clean high-quality drinking water. You will have the ability to react fast to the situation that occurs occasionally thinking outside the box ensuring we keep our customers in supply. You will be able to comfortably liaise with multiple stakeholders at all levels of our business providing clear updates.

We are looking for people that enjoy problem solving, analysing and work proactively using your own initiative. The role is office based and suitable candidates ideally have confidence in working with multiple IT systems and telephone skills.

Southern Water have a mandate to make sure that our 2.5 million water customers are receiving a continuous supply of fresh wholesome drinking water. It's an exciting time to join as we are currently transforming our Operational Control Centre and are seeking a Controller to join our diverse team.

Controllers form the backbone of the Water and Wastewater Services we provide to our communities. Without water, life as we know it would be impossible. Every day, we rely on it for drinking, washing and cleaning. It helps create the energy we need for heat and light. It's also essential to the products we enjoy and the natural world we depend upon. Water is without doubt the most important substance known to mankind, we operate in a water stressed region and have significant challenges to balance our need to provide water & protect the local environment.

As a Water Network Controller you will be based at our Durrington office, working a 6-week rotational shift pattern working a range of 12-hour shifts which include 3 days on 7 days off, 4 days on and 7 days off, 3 nights on and 7 days off and 4 nights on 7 days off. - Within this you will have a range of standby which can be discuss in more detail at interview stage- The role comes with an attractive salary of up to £32,400 per year depending on skills and experience plus a 15% shift allowance and standby payments. We are offering a comprehensive benefits package including company related bonus, BUPA healthcare and pension.
