Full Job Description

The Water Resource Technical Analyst role is responsible for supporting the Production Planners and frontline operational teams in their activities both in the field and in the office by providing technical input and recommendations in all aspects of operational water resource management and water supply. They are the data owners for all abstraction and distribution input flow data and downstream processes including two regulatory reporting OCF processes. They play a key role in providing the business with water demand and leakage analysis to achieve ODI and other regulatory targets., To prepare and present data and reports on a regular and ad hoc basis including, but not limited to :

  • Regulatory Reporting to Executive level management, The Board and relevant external agencies (OFWAT, EA etc.)
  • Bulk import and export flow data (for accurate financial reporting and maximisation of financial income)
  • To carry out trend analysis and challenge performance indicators across the water supply operational areas to identify areas of concern and opportunities for improvement.
  • To manage and assess the Company's Water Resources position and subsequent modelling / reporting and escalation of situations of concern as required.
  • To monitor ground and surface water abstractions to ensure compliance adherence to supply and demand forecasting and reporting to EA.
  • Form part of Southern Waters Incident Response Rota.

    This role requires an analytical thinker with exceptional attention to detail., Skilled at interpreting large volumes of data and providing insights and conclusions.
  • Able to work in a high-pressure environment and pick up new skills at pace.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to negotiate and persuade and work collaboratively with others.
  • Knowledge Qualifications
  • IT literate (MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint).
  • Able to present data to a high standard.
  • Excellent with systems (Pi Excel, Prism, Process Book, Geomap) and data analysis and manipulation within those systems., Minimum GCSEs in English, Maths and a Science based subject.
  • A Levels or equivalent.
  • Degree level preferable but not essential.
