Registers of Scotland (RoS) manages 21 land, property and other legal registers which are a critical asset for the Scottish economy. To get a taste of what we do, our facilities and our hybrid working approach please see the following link for a short video; About this Role: You will work with teams across digital products and marketing activities for Registers of Scotland (RoS) to produce and analyse data in order to optimise our websites. Alongside giving ongoing support to the Customer Insight Manager with other Insight Projects., You’ll collaborate with the teams based within Customer Experience, User Centered Design and the wider business to: + Understand their performance reporting needs + Measure success through measurement and analysis + Ensure we build the right services and products for our users – a core part of our user centric service team And be responsible for: + are responsible for the website performance analysis across RoS and help the domain and project teams measure and assess outcomes + work independently, although you know to seek guidance when necessary + are adaptable in applying analysis techniques to new contexts, especially when acting as the sole representative for performance analysts on a project + are able to create a performance measurement framework for a project with the domain/project team, including identifying reporting requirements, advising on procurement, implementation and validation of tools to deliver against these requirements + are responsible for the accuracy and quality of data and analysis and how they are used + share related performance analytics with relevant colleagues + are engaged with, and actively contribute to, the performance analysis and wider user centred design communities + Share customer data and insights with cross-functional teams to inform decision making and support business initiatives + assist with ad-hoc projects, providing data analysis and actionable recommendations, + Share insight into the performance of features and experiments once these have went live, supporting our build, measure and learn approach. + Understand our different data sources (web analytics, user feedback and other systems) to provide a holistic analysis of the data the team need to make important decisions for users. + Identify problems and issues with the service for product and experience to consider, so that we can be proactive in solving blockers + Assess the user journey and provide insight into this, so the team can begin to understand how users are engaging with the service – and collaborating with experience to share additional insight into why they might be doing what they are doing. Collaborating and partnering + Able to manage stakeholders’ expectations and be flexible. + Able to work collaboratively within a group, actively networking with others and engaging in varying types of feedback choosing the appropriate time, and ensuring the discussion sticks. Delivering a quality service + Able to identify and compare the best processes or delivery methods to use, including measuring and evaluating outcomes. Helps the team to decide the best approach. Capable of ensuring standards are being met. + Has the ability to apply a digital understanding to their work, and able to identify and implement solutions for assisted digital. + Designs research instruments for use across multiple products and services. Leading and communicating / building capability for all + Excellent communication skills, including presenting data to a non-technical audience. + Has given training to others in quantitative research practices. + Gives direction on which quantitative research tools and methods to use. + Experienced in meeting the needs of users across a variety of channels. + Communicate service performance against key indicators to internal and external stakeholders. + Collaborate with teams to ensure that proactive and reactive analysis is available to support decision making at all times throughout discovery and delivery. + Become involved in communities of practice for web analytics, UX and service design. + Establishing a web analytics communities of practise within RoS for people to participate in.     + Working knowledge of Agile approaches. + Working knowledge and application of core technical concepts, digital analytics tools such as Google Analytics for example. + Design and work with the team to implement tagging like Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, so that we have maximise availability of behavioural data – becoming an exemplar for other service teams within the organisation. + Design and implement digital performance dashboards that support decision making and increase visibility on our performance for the team and the wider organisation. + Collaborate with our domains to maintain our Key Performance Indicator Framework, setting these with the Service and Product Managers to ensure that senior management are kept abreast of our performance. Competencies or Behaviours Analysis and making effective decisions + A strong understanding of a range of sources and digital analytical tools + Excellent attention to detail and accuracy + Experience of data mining and analytics. + Able to make decisions characterised by medium levels of risk and complexity. + Inform others to make good design decisions based on data and evidence.
