Full Job Description

  • Managing the full product life cycle to ensure that customer/user needs are met and that financial and other targets are achieved.
  • Selecting, adopting and adapting appropriate product development methods, tools, and techniques.
  • Analysing market and/or user research, feedback, expert opinion and usage data to understand needs and opportunities., The Web Product Owner is responsible for the roadmap of Web related products including content management system, analytics and interactive channels (i.e. chatbot), the role will lead the web product team and also engage with internal and external stakeholders to align the roadmap to strategic goals and contribute to outcomes. To solve product-related problems, make decisions, complete trade-off analysis to stay on track towards business deliverable commitments. User Research knowledge and principles and User Centred Design knowledge and principles. As our next Web Product Owner, you will be able to thrive working collaboratively in a team environment but equally able to work remotely without immediate supervision. The role is integral to our team., Responsible for setting, prioritising, and accepting the work generated by a team in order to ensure the most valuable and proper functionality of the product, gather feature requests, schedule releases, and coordinate sprints. Identify user needs, help customers understand business value and work with cross-functional teams to manage product releases, Line Management and leadership of the Web Product Team
  • Acts as product owner/champion for one or more products or services.
  • Manages the full product life cycle to ensure that customer/user needs are met and that financial and other targets are achieved.
  • Selects, adopts and adapts appropriate product development methods, tools, and techniques.
  • Analyses market and/or user research, feedback, expert opinion and usage data to understand needs and opportunities.
  • Develops product propositions and determines product positioning and variants for different customer and user segments.
  • Prioritises product and service requirements, develops product roadmaps and owns the product backlog.
  • Coordinates customer testing and product launches and supports communications and training.
  • Anticipates changes in customer/user needs.
  • Adapts products and creates product retirement and transitioning plans.
  • Managing stakeholders to ensure that products produced are focused on the 'user' needs and requirements
  • Act as an ambassador for products internally and externally and as the primary contact for queries related to the product.
  • Continually develop your knowledge and skills.
  • Carry out duties in accordance with Council Values.

  • Experience required
  • Significant experience working in a team that develops and supports websites and content.
  • Management of internal and external stakeholders, and their expectations.
  • Product Management experience, particularly websites
  • Significant experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver on a common goal.
  • Experience with a definition of minimum marketable features and minimum viable products.
  • Dealing with matters of a highly sensitive and confidential nature.

  • Demonstrated capabilities to manage own workload and make informed decisions in the absence of required information, working to tight and often changing timescales, Significant Product Management experience in web products i.e. websites, chatbot's, transactional forms.
