Full Job Description

We are looking for a Website Manager to join our Digital Marketing team at William Russell. As our Website Manager, you'll have full responsibility for the company's marketing websites, and involvement in the design and development of specific applications such as our member portal and online quote tools. The role-Our aim is to grow organically. Your role is to help us gain more conversions from our existing web traffic and grow our organic visibility through performance optimisation and technical SEO on the marketing website. Reporting directly to the Marketing Director, you'll work closely with colleagues in the Marketing Team and you'll also manage our relationship with our website development agency. Your responsibilities-We have ambitious plans for our website, so your responsibilities will also include:

  • Strategy-developing and executing our website strategy;
  • Content design- leading the work to evolve the website's architecture, UX, and UI;
  • Performance-improving the performance of our websites, making them more usable and accessible, and improving the website's technical SEO foundations;
  • Network-maintaining and optimising our websites hosting infrastructures;
  • Conversion rate-increasing the engagement and conversion rate of our website traffic;
  • Website hygiene-monitoring automated site audit programmes (e.g., Ahrefs) and making fixes/implementing changes to ensure strong website health.
  • Aside from these core responsibilities, you'll find yourself involved in brand development, marketing automation, advertising, and content design. So, you'll need to demonstrate your wider experience, excitement & passion for marketing, design & tech in your application for this role.

    About you-You have more than 5 years' experience in website management, a specialism in WordPress, and experience of technical SEO and website usability. You also have experience with advanced digital marketing platforms (e.g. HubSpot, Click Dimensions, SalesForce and Adobe Marketing Clouds and Dynamics); a basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP; and competency with basic marketing tools such as GA4, Ahrefs and Search Consul., All applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK, and able to work in our Lightwater office for two days per week.
