Full Job Description

We are looking for a professional and experienced Weekend Hygiene Operative to join our Hygiene team. You will conduct factory cleaning activities in a safe and efficient manner ensuring food production equipment is maintained if a food safe and hygienic condition in both the low risk and the High-risk production areas. You will also collect and manage the factory waste streams according to their area using segregation and avoiding any mixing of cardboard, plastic, food and general waste to maximise revenue and comply with the Hilton environmental policy.

As a Weekend Hygiene Operative some of the responsibilities will be to:
- To follow all H&S procedures in their area of responsibility and ensure you and others operate in a safety conscious manner.
- To report all Accidents and Near Misses to their Team Manager and help in RCA to prevent reoccurrence and improve safety on site.
- To carry out cleaning activities to high standard inc. Interim cleans of food production equipment, machinery, utensils following CICs in a timely manner and minimising any potential downtime.
- To rotate between high risk and low risk hygiene activities inc. waste management.
- Maintain a good standard of hygiene in cleaning areas and cleaning equipment recognising the importance of listeria management in high risk and the role Good Hygiene Practice (GHP) plays.
- Ensure GMP is adhered to when conducting interim cleans to ensure the H&S of staff members and the food safety of product.
- To support & mentor new team members in areas you are already skilled in.
- To ensure any Hygiene documentation is filled in on time and in full and be legible.
- Ensure the safe use, storage and disposal of chemicals and hygiene equipment.
- Ensure that any waste or debris from hygiene activities is collected in the appropriate waste bin / bag and disposed of in the correct waste stream. WASTE IS NOT TO ENTER THE DRAIN.
- Ensure the removal & segregation of waste by the appropriate stream, avoiding any cross contamination during the process.
- To work proactively with your Co-ordinator and colleagues, continually seeking new ways to improve and to maximise efficiency, reduce cost and save resource and maintain a safe working environment.
- Have a degree of flexibility and be able to rotate and cover holidays / weekends if required

Ideally have experience in High and Low Risk Hygiene Environments.
- Chemical Handling
- The ability to understand and follow CIC's, policies and procedures.
- Understands the principles of GMP.
- Demonstrates a "Can Do" and "Right First Time" attitude.
- Ability to meet deadlines and targets in peak periods whilst maintaining high standards.
- Food Hygiene Level 2
- Health and Safety Level 2
- Allergen Awareness
- Listeria awareness
