Weekend Speciality Doctor

Phyllis Tuckwell is looking to appoint a weekend specialty doctor to take part in the out of hours on site support of the hospice inpatient unit. This substantive post comprises of approximately 6-8 hours per Saturday and Sunday on site working and telephone support for the remainder of the shift (8am-7pm). The appointee will be reviewing hospice inpatients and admitting new patients to the ward. There is always the support of the consultant in palliative medicine.

This post would suit a doctor wishing to increase their Palliative Medicine knowledge such as a GP. Prior experience of palliative medicine is desirable but not essential. The successful applicant will receive a comprehensive induction and be supported educationally. The successful candidate will possess:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good computer skills and be willing to learn
• Effective time management and organisational skills, with an attention to detail
