Full Job Description

The Welfare Rights Service provides independent benefit advice, casework & representation service to both internal and external customers.
Your role will be to contribute towards a comprehensive local authority Welfare Rights Service. This will include encouraging the take-up of benefits, the provision of confidential advice on potential entitlement, assisting with benefit applications and assistance with challenging decisions at the various stages available.
You must

have a good knowledge of the social security benefits system
- have experience of the claims and appeals process
- have experience in the field of advice giving
- have well developed advocacy skills
- be committed to the promotion of social justice through the provision of good quality advice to the community
