Full Job Description
Monday to Friday 10am - 6pm, with alternating Saturdays. The main purpose of the role is to deliver a creative and culturally rich program which embraces residents' varied life experiences. Promotes and inspires staff to develop a culture of meaningful connections and activities that meet the needs of individual and groups of residents to foster a sense of belonging. You will be responsible for the assessment, planning and delivery of a program of daily meaningful activities for groups and individuals. The activity culture will form part of the holistic care, enabling residents to continue with ordinary daily living tasks such as cleaning, washing, cooking, introducing new experiences with the aim to promote a feeling of purpose and belonging. You would also organise and plan external performers and take responsibility for organising resources to complete activities and maintaining stock of this. The right candidate will help residents to remain as active and independent as possible, identify residents' unique goals and implement personalised activity plans and support residents to explore new interests, engage in physical activities, and enjoy themselves in a stimulating and homely environment. The Service: Foxburrow Grange is a 69 bed home with state-of-the-art facilities with an outstanding and friendly team of dedicated staff. The home has been delivering person-centred care for 30 years, is within easy reach of major transport links and close to Colchester town centre. The home comprises of four wings. On the ground floor are 32 bedrooms for residents with dementia, with a further 37 rooms on the first floor for people in need of nursing and/or dementia care. - Experience of working with assessment tools, planning care and delivering meaningful activities for older people and those with a diagnosis of cognitive impairment
- Experienced in setting up and running nontherapeutic groups and individual sessions. Has the experience to communicate in different ways to meet the needs of the audience
- Ability to work flexible shift patterns to cover 7 days a week.
- Good IT Skills. Desirable
- Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care, or equivalent
- A robust understanding of dementia and experience of working with people with dementia and cognitive impairment
- A car driver with a vehicle available to use for work or evidence of being able to travel independently to other locations if required.
