Full Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate therapist with Wheelchair experience to join our team. As a Wheelchair Therapist, you will play a crucial role in improving the quality of life for individuals with mobility challenges by providing customised wheelchair assessments, fittings, and training. You will work closely with patients, their families, and a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

What I might be doing?

Conduct assessment of service users of patient mobility and posture needs, including assessing their physical abilities, lifestyle requirements, and environmental factors.
Collaborate with service users, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to determine appropriate wheelchair and seating systems based on individual needs and goals.
Provide expert guidance in selecting and configuring manual or powered wheelchairs, cushions, and positioning accessories.
Ensure proper fitting and adjustment of wheelchairs, ensuring optimal comfort, posture, and pressure relief.
Train service users and their caregivers on safe and effective wheelchair use, including transfers, propelling techniques, and maintenance.

We are looking for qualified Therapist with wheelchair services experience as part of our Equipment and Wheelchairs Service Team., Graduate Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy
HCPC registered
Member of appropriate professional body e.g. College of Occupational Therapists
Current Full UK Manual Driving License
Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety including risk assessments and visual risk assessments.
Previous experience of working as a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist providing a range of care
