Full Job Description
Bromley Wheelchair Service has an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Wheelchair Therapist (background as an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist) to work up to 30 hours per week in this innovative and exciting service., To act as a Senior Therapist within the Wheelchair Service with responsibility for the provision of therapy services to patients in a range of domiciliary and residential settings, and assessments for wheelchairs and seating in clinics and the home environment.
To undertake assessments of a wide range of complex patients. To use clinical reasoning skills in line with evidence based practice. To formulate and implement intervention plans and to facilitate patients to manage their own health and wellbeing. To be responsible for enabling the patient to achieve and maintain a level of independent functioning in order to remain at home or in the most appropriate alternative community setting.
To work as part of the multi-disciplinary Wheelchair Service Team in a variety of settings, assessing, planning and prescribing wheelchairs and posture management systems for clients of all ages with a variety of clinical conditions.
The postholder will ideally have experience working in neurology or with children however this role is an opportunity to receive training from our specialist wheelchair therapists and rehabilitation engineer to increase knowledge and skills in posture and seating of adults and children with physical disabilities.

Compensation is contingent upon NHS experience and current banding/pay point.
