Full Job Description

At Wrexham University, we are committed to ensuring that everyone who has the potential to achieve in higher education is given the chance to do so. Regardless of a person's background, age, gender or disability, we offer support and advice to help them succeed with their educational aspirations. This begins with our outreach work with schools, colleges and community groups to promote Higher Education to people who may not have viewed this route as a viable option for them.

We have a new opportunity in the Student Recruitment Team for a Widening Access Assistant to provide excellent support for our outreach and widening access activities.

Reporting to the Outreach and Widening Access Co-ordinator, the postholder will be tasked with providing opportunities for under-represented groups to enter into higher education through interactions, events and support engagements. The role will also include excellent admin support, including maintaining schedules and plans and to assist the Co-ordinator in managing partnerships in the areas of school/college/community for the purpose of recruiting UK students.

The postholder will be required to conduct market research and assist in the development of school/college/community relationships, to liaise with existing partners, other relevant education institutions and sponsorship bodies. This will include working with colleagues in the wider Directorate on the creation of promotional materials and communications to engage our widening access audiences. This will also include liaising with faculty colleagues to provide opportunities for under-represented groups to engage with subject specific outreach opportunities.

Our ideal candidate would be a proactive, enthusiastic, personable individual with excellent planning and organisational skills. They should be audience-focused and should have a passion for delivering high quality support within the Student Recruitment Team., Disability Confident
