Full Job Description

This role will be based on the University campus with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements., We are looking for a professional and proactive individual to join us as Wikimedia and Open Knowledge Advisor to promote open knowledge across campus and beyond. You will take the lead on advocating the benefits of Wikimedia and related open knowledge projects at our institution including open access, open research and open education.
Additionally, you will collaborate with Wikimedia UK and with colleagues at partner organisations to advance the adoption of open knowledge practices and the use of Wikimedia. Your role will be integral to advancing our institution's commitment to open knowledge and digital literacy.
As the Wikimedia and Open Knowledge Advisor, you will be part of the Library Research Services Section and will collaborate closely with colleagues across the Library, the wider University, the Knowledge Equity Network and external GLAM organisations (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums) to promote the democratisation of knowledge.
