Full Job Description
As an Offshore Wind Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our state-of-the-art wind turbines here at Rampion, this being part of RWE's large global fleet in Offshore Wind.,
- Maintenance and Servicing: Perform routine and corrective maintenance tasks on wind turbines and associated generation network
- Fault Diagnosis and Repair: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime and maximise the power harnessed from the wind
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict safety rules and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and the team
- Data Analysis: Utilize SCADA systems to monitor turbine performance and identify areas for improvement
- Project Work: Participate in various projects, such as upgrades, retrofits, and major component exchanges
Technical Expertise: A significant background in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic engineering, ideally with a relevant NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification - Safety Focus: A commitment to safety and a thorough understanding of HSSE regulations
- Problem-solving skills: The ability to think critically and find innovative solutions
- Physical Fitness: The capacity to work in complex conditions, including offshore environments and of course, at height
- Teamwork: Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
- Flexibility: A willingness to work a shift pattern and infrequently work offshore overnight when specialist projects arise
- Location: You must live a reasonable distance to site or be willing to relocate Advantageous but not essential: If you have a background in any of the following fields:
- Electricians
- Building Maintenance Technicians
- Plant Repair Mechanics
- HVAC Engineers
- Auto Mechanics
- C&I Instrument Technicians
- Plumbers
- Gas Fitters
- Navy, Army, or Air Force (Engineering Corps)
- Conventional Power Generation
- Infrastructure and Utilities Technicians
- Train or Airplane Technicians
