Full Job Description

First Glass Window Cleaning Ltd are looking for their newest employee.

My name is Tom Sidaway and I have been running First Glass Window Cleaning Ltd for around 7 years. I started on a part time self-employed basis and as the years have passed, we have changed to a limited company and successfully taken on our first employee. We are based in Wombourne and service homes around Stourbridge, Dudley and surrounding areas.

To ensure that the business can continue to provide the best possible service to all of its customers we need to find our newest team member.

I am looking to recruit a person that loves the thought of working outside. Has an inbuilt need to ensure they complete any task to the very best of their ability. Wants to interact with friendly and kind people with whom they will build genuine friendships. Someone who can follow my direction and instruction to ensure a seamless service regardless of whether they or I clean someone's windows.
Initially the job would be on a part time basis. Three days a week, eight-hour days. I have every confidence that if you are the right fit for the business then an increase in hours would be possible, if that suited your situation. Initially four days / thirty two hours a week.

You do not need to have experience as a window cleaner but customer service experience would be essential. As would an ability to manage customer expectations.

There are some physical demands to this job. Although most work will be undertaken on normal residential properties there is some commercial work. At these locations there are regularly windows that are up to 3 storeys high. The required fitness and strength will come with time and experience but you will be on your feet for most of the day and using your upper body.

The ideal candidate will be customer service orientated. That is the main characteristic I am looking for. The physical demands of the job are there but with practise, you will develop your strength to meet the needs of the tasks.

Window Cleaning is a year-round job. The only weather that we don't work in is sub-zero temperatures. That means from just above freezing in January to the middle of August when you didn't realise the UK could get this hot, we will be out there cleaning. The successful candidate will not be put off by that. Waterproof clothing and uniform will be provided.

A full clean driving license or to be working towards getting a driving license would be a benefit.

Terms and Conditions of employment

1. 24 hour a week contract initially (Mon-Wed Ideally). Potential to rise to 32 hours depending on the needs of the business and successful applicants' agreement.
2. £12.00 initial hourly rate. Rising to £12.21 after successful completion of all mandatory training and 12 weeks employment. Paid Monthly. £12 X 24 Hours X 52 Weeks = £14,976.00 PA
