MK Dons Women's Team are part of the MK Dons Sports and Education Trust and as such this role reports to MK Dons SET and is required to comply with all MK Dons SET policies and practices and support the wider SET activities to ensure MK Dons Women's Team are involved in all aspects of MK Dons SET activities as required. Role purpose: To manage all on and off-field football activities for the Women's first team to ensure that all players and staff are provided with coaching and support to enable them to compete and perform at the highest level. You will act as Head Coach also and oversee all operational aspects of the team and its development in line with an agreed budget. Role Competencies: Planning Timescales:

  • Must be able to plan, deliver, and review all training sessions and fixtures for the Women's First Team.
  • Must be able to plan and manage all coaching and support staff for the Women's First Team across the season.
  • Must be able to adapt across the playing season, in response to results on the pitch, changing business needs at the SET and wider external football factors.
  • Decision Making:
  • Must be able to demonstrate good sound judgment when making decisions that affect the MK Dons SET and MK Dons Women's First Team.
  • Must understand what decisions can be made in the remit of own role and know when to escalate to manager for larger decisions.
  • Must ensure decisions are clear, concise and communicated effectively in relation to policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to read across departments, understand other roles and receive support and be supported to achieve wider outcomes.
  • Impact and Influence:
  • Must be able to ensure we have a competitive squad of female players with a desire to succeed to their full potential, including being responsible for the recruitment, selection and development of players
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the team, as agreed with the MK Dons SET CEO/ Head of Community Football, supporting the delivery of strategic milestones and goals.
  • Be able to persuade and influence peers and teams in the sphere of driving forwards the agreed outcomes of the Women's First Team.
  • Be an ambassador for the Club, MK Dons SET and the Women's game.
  • Skill Level:
  • Assist in enhancing the Women's game within the SET, Club and across the League.
  • Be able to demonstrate specialist technical and tactical football knowledge and understand how to share with peers, players, coaching staff and wider support staff.
  • Be able to understand other skill sets across the SET and wider group and know when to draw in skills to advance the Women's First Team.
  • Communication:
  • Be able to instruct and coordinate individuals in a professional and appropriate manner.
  • Provide regular updates to MK Dons SET Head of Community Football and MK Dons SET CEO.
  • Work with the MK Dons SET and Club's Communications and Commercial Departments as required to develop and promote all appropriate women's team activities.
  • Be an ambassador of the MK Dons SET, always providing excellent customer service whilst portraying a professional image.
  • Treat all colleagues as customers ensuring respectful, positive outcomes across all communications.
  • Budget Management:
  • Have a through understanding of the overall budget assigned to the Women's First Team and comply with the agreed parameters.
  • Understand the fiscal Key Performance Indicators attached to the Women's First Team.
  • Be accountable for following all financial policies and procedures required by the SET.
  • Lead and Develop:
  • Supervise and coordinate the Women's First Team players, operating to the highest practice principles, to ensure pragmatic progress, along with excellent collaboration with the U23s and female pathway.
  • Operating Parameters:
  • Ensure all FA, FANWL and EFL rules and regulations are adhered to.
  • Monitor and evaluate player and coach performance.
  • MK Dons SET and MK Dons FC seek to ensure that all children and young people are protected and kept safe from harm while they are with staff and volunteers within our activities.   • Perform other duties as required, which are considered relevant to the post and to the objectives of the SET as identified by the MK Dons SET CEO.

  • Experience
  • Experience of working as a Women's Head Coach or in a managerial/lead football position - E
  • Experience of coaching senior players/open age players in a women's team -E
  • Excellent knowledge of the women's game - E
  • Knowledge of technical and tactical components of successful football strategies, tactics and techniques appropriate to the team and player's stage of development.
  • Growth mindset and strong evidence of continued professional development.
  • Excellent relationship building and communication skills.
